Merton’s Pupil and Parent Engagement Manager

Emma is a qualified nutritionist with 12 months experience working in the local authority sector. Emma is excited to be joining our team in Merton as pupil and parent engagement manager, where she will be responsible for supporting our primary and secondary schools from a nutrition and education perspective.
Emma’s roles and responsibilities include:
- Ensuring menus are nutritious, balanced and meet the government standards for healthy school meals.
- Development of special dietary menus, including gluten, dairy and egg free, and carbohydrate counts for diabetics.
- Delivering nutrition education in schools, including healthy eating assemblies, classroom workshops and cooking events.
- Supporting schools to adopt a whole school approach to health and wellbeing. E.g. breakfast clubs, after-school cooking clubs.
Holding parent focus groups, tasting sessions, pupil voice meetings to understand how we can better support health and wellbeing in your child’s school.
