MEG LONGWORTH
HEAD OF NUTRITION & PUBLIC HEALTH
Meg is a registered nutritionist and has been with Chartwells since 2012. Meg is responsible for leading our team of 15 nutritionists all of which are either registered or registered associate nutritionists to the Association for Nutrition. Meg supports on a wide range of important projects; whether that’s through the development and delivery of educational programmes and initiatives, or through working with the Chartwells food development team on some of Public Health England’s objectives to reduce sugar and other nutrients within children’s diets. Further responsibilities that Meg has taken under her belt in the last 12 months include implementing the Chartwells sustainability strategy and leading on our partnership with our chosen charity Young Minds.
JESSICA CRANE
HEAD OF TECHNICAL & TRAINING
Jessica joined Chartwells as a senior nutritionist in 2018, bringing with her a breadth of experience from clinical research to food technology. Jessica works nationally and leads on the technical aspects of nutrition. This includes ensuring Chartwells menus are compliant to the school food standards, monitoring our recipes and ingredients in line with company standards and legislation and leading our special diet strategy with the Head of Special Diets. Additionally, Jessica manages the Chartwells nutrition audit scheme and is responsible for training programmes on nutrition and special diets to ensure compliance to company policies and procedures. Beyond her internal role, Jessica is a leading member of a school food industry working group, driving forward a national safe standard for the management of allergens in education catering.
STEPH HALL
HEAD OF SPECIAL DIETS
Steph is a registered nutritionist and has been with Chartwells since 2010. Steph is responsible for ensuring we cater for as many children with allergies and intolerances as possible. Steph is passionate about ensuring every child has access to nutritious food, regardless of their allergies, and works very hard to enhance our special diet service and ensure Chartwells go above and beyond the industry standard.
GRACE SCOTT
REGIONAL NUTRITIONIST
Grace is a Registered Food Nutritionist, and supports Chartwells Nutrition across the Midlands and the Entrust partnership in Stafford. Grace supports all schools’ from a nutrition and education perspective, delivering exciting educational workshops from our very own Chartwells’ BTCK programme! Grace also manages special diets for children and writes menus to support kitchens that cater for food allergies or intolerances. Grace also project manages Chartwells Holiday Provision; an initiative aimed to support local charities, public health teams and other organisations to provide food and nutrition education to children and families over the school holidays.
OLIVIA PRATT
SENIOR NUTRITIONIST
Olivia is a registered nutritionist and has been with Chartwells since 2016. Olivia’s main responsibilities include supporting schools in the south of the country through delivering nutrition education to schools in line with the national curriculum and ensuring compliance to school food legislation. With her background in Sports Nutrition, Olivia leads our sports nutrition and performance programme (SNAPP). Olivia’s knowledge of the school meals industry allows her to continue to develop unique initiatives to enable Chartwells to work in partnership with schools, ensuring every child receives sound nutrition education across the country.
CLARE HEDDERMAN
SENIOR NUTRITIONIST
Clare joined Chartwells in 2014 and is dedicated to supporting the schools in the north of the country. Clare delivers nutrition education and supports schools with compliance to the school food standards and the Food Information Regulations. Clare visits schools on a daily basis to deliver classroom workshops and spends time with our catering teams delivering training. Clare works closely with our food development team to ensure all new concepts are compliant to government legislation and are all in line with the feedback she receives from children at school council meetings when she attends.
SARAH FRETWELL
PUBLIC HEALTH STRATEGIC LEAD
Sarah is a Registered Public Health Practitioner through the national UKPHR and a UKPHR South Central Assessor. As a qualified Specialist I have worked for many years within Public Health and Health Improvement Team, in various strategic roles supporting the Government’s Public Health agenda’s. In my current role I am responsible for the strategic direction of Public Health within Chartwells in line with the School Food Plan and Health & Wellbeing Strategy.
